Dear Neighbors,

I'm Charlyn Daugherty. My husband Gerald is running for re-election as your Travis County Commissioner, Precinct 3. When he first ran I said,  "I don't know much about politics and frankly, I don't like much about it."  Here's what I have observed since he took office.  I have watched Gerald have to deal with difficult issues—where there are opposing and strongly held views on both sides.  He has effectively sought the best solutions calling upon his common sense and his willingness to make the tough decisions, in the best interest of all of Travis County, even when there has been some very vocal opposition.  This is not easy or fun.  His integrity and his care and concern for the community really are evident here.

Gerald has been in this position for six years and he has done exactly what I said he would do back in 2002.  He has worked tirelessly for all of the people of our community—seeking practical, collaborative solutions to the problems that face Travis County.

Gerald is a rare politician.  He brings honest, straightforward leadership to this job.  He is a man you can trust and he always speaks candidly—traits that are hard to find in the political arena.  I am so proud of him because he continues to exhibit a strong work ethic, total integrity and devotion to doing the right thing. No one knows a man better than his wife and I can assure you that Gerald is the most genuinely good and honest persosn I know.  He represents us well.  Please join me in voting for him again.
